After a number of years of personal development in the late 1970s and early 80s my first training was with the Institute for the Development of Human Potential(IDHP)in Bath. This was a two year intensive training in Humanistic approaches to therapeutic change. I received their Diploma in Humanistic Psychology at the end of this course in 1985.
I was then accepted by Gestalt South West on to their advanced training course in Bristol. I successfully completed three years training in Gestalt psychotherapy.During the second year of this training (1987)I began fully supervised practice with the full support of my trainers.I then completed a fourth year with Gestalt South West in a small group of new practitioners to further develop my practitioner and supervisory skills.
Since then I have sought to continue my professional development on a regular basis to extend my range as a therapist both personally and professionally.
My professional body is the Independent Practitioners Network(IPN).This is a democratic and non-hierarchical network in which small groups of practitioners reach full member status through an intensive and continuous process of self and peer evaluation.I am active in a full member group of this network, now fifteen years old,and am accredited through this process.
My practice is fully supervised to the highest professional standard.
